The social event for Nantou County public functionaries was held on April 29 in the Youth Activity Center in Xitou. Magistrate Lee hoped this event would create some couples from these 100 single public functionaries.
  In order to enrich the social lives of those single public functionaries and to create the chances for them to meet those who work in other departments, the County Government held this social event. This year ROC celebrates its 100 years of existence and there were also 100 single public functionaries joined this activity. There were 53 males and 47 females.
  Magistrate Lee was at the venue before the event formally started. He encouraged the participants to be open for possible chances to know more people and to be brave for possible long- term relationship.
  He mentioned that nowadays less people get married and the birth rate keep dropping. The structure of the population has changed. There are now more elderly people and less young men. In 2003, the number of students in Nantou was 330,000, but in 2009 the number was only 190,000, almost 50% less than the number in 2003.
  Since the low marriage and birth rate have become social issues, Magistrate Lee hoped that single people could be more open for the possibility of getting married. He took Mr. Lo, a County Government adviser as an example. He was already 50 years old, when he got married. So if the chance comes, do not miss it. Later, Magistrate Lee took photo with the participants, who expected to have fun and chances in this event. .
  In order to help the participants to quickly know each other, all kinds of activities were held in the bus and in Xitou. Hopefully many lifetime romances would entail.
