The 3ird annual Water Bamboo Festival of Nantou County 2009, start on August 22nd at Pu Li Flowers Logistics Center. All donations and sales such as Color painting T shirts, agricultural products, combination flower pots, and related agriculture products will donate to the disaster area. Deputy of Nantou County Government, Jye Ching Chang says County Government thanks for all kinds of assistances from all different fields to help the disaster area, he honestly hope through this festival also can promote the high quality water bamboo produced from Nantou County, and the other agricultural products.   Deputy of Nantou County Government on behalf of Magistrate Lee says, more than 95% of the production of water bamboo is from Pu Li, Yu Chih, Guo Sing. The quality of water bamboo is high, and stable, also popular in Japan, China. And, there’s more groups from China intend to purchase water bamboo from Nantou County. This will help the water bamboo farmers in Nantou County a lot.   He also thanks to all different fields give their assistance to the disaster areas damaged by Typhoon. Director Shih Hong Ho from Pu Li Farmers’ Association says people who order a table of meal cost $3000NTD, the Farmers’ Association will donate $1000NTD to help the disaster areas in Nantou County. Also, there are several items such as T shirt, agriculture products, combination pots sales, all income will donate to the areas where need to be helped.   There are 80 groups for the water bamboo contest, and the first place honored to Mr. Rong Shu Syu. There is also a beauty contest for Miss Water Bamboo during the festival. There are 15 young girls join the contest, and the final result of the Miss water Bamboo goes to Miss Shu Ting Hong. The 2nd place go to Miss Yi Chia Tang, and the 3ird place is Guan Jie Lin. The rest of the participants also can collect some souvenirs. The beauty contest give the festival a nice ending for the 2009 water Bamboo Festival.
