Located in Sheliao Area of Chushan Township, NFA Training Center was officially inaugurated on January 19. The ceremony was hosted by Mr. Wu Dun-Yi, Premier with Mr. & Mrs. Li Chao-Ching Magistrate leading working team of Nantou County Government attending the Ceremony. They joined attending guests to watch shows of Surface Rescue, Chopper Rappelling, Airplane and Tunnel Real Fire Rescue. All the guests praised the equipment and training functions of the Training Center.
  In his speech given in the Ceremony, he said “it is a great honor and I am glad to see NFA Training Center setting up in Nantou. I believe the Center will not only giving better and complete training for firemen, it will, if open for visitors, help the public to acquire the knowledge in fire prevention and rescue and will also be helpful to the tourism development of Nantou County.” Magistrate Li pointed out that the set up of NFA Training Center project had been delayed for years before he inaugurating the Office. Once, the budget was at risk of being retracted by NFA for compensation issue. After taking over the office, he endeavored and managed to retain the budget and completed coordination and release of compensation and finally the Project was retained in Nantou and the NFA Training Center was completed.
  At the site, other than the drill and show of advanced equipments, in order to enhance the disaster education and exchange of experience, NFA also held “Firefighting and Disaster Rescue Training International Seminar” for two days. The Seminar was participated by well known glob al rescue training establishments from Japan, Singapore, UK and USA, to share their experience and results in fire prevention and rescue. There were memorandums inked to establish the base of cooperation in the future.
  NFA Training Center site cover an area of 109 hectares and is the largest professional firefighting and rescue physical training ground, It can accommodate 600 trainees every day. The Center has multifunction area for administration, lecturing, lodging and food and provision, there are also 2 main block of training grounds for all kinds of disaster rescuing activities. There are items rarely seen domestically, such as rescue of ship and aircraft disaster, torrent, highway and tunnel disaster rescue training, underground station, earthquake and mud slide rescue training facilities.
