In light of promoting the tourism of Sun Moon Lake, Nantou County Mayor Lee Zhao Chin has devoted himself in planning night time tours for Sun Moon Lake. Encouraged by the Chairman of Foxccon Kuo Tai Min, the internationally know film director Zhang Yimou visited Sun Moon Lake on March 28th. He was accompanied by Mayor Lee on a yacht touring the lake to assess the appropriate location for building an international class night theater. Director Zhang was very focus when Mayor Lee introduced the lake and had occasion discussions with the mayor and Chairman Kuo in a very comfortable atmosphere.
  Earlier in the day, Mayor Lee also accompanied Director Zhang and Chairman Kuo for breakfast at the Fleur de Chine Hotel while viewing the great scenery of Sun Moon Lake. Mayor Lee even presented Director Zhang and Chairman Kuo with national treasure Chinese cypress calabash as souvenirs. Director Zhang gave Mayor Lee his book “The Secret of 2008 Olympics” for return. Legislator Lin Min Chen was also there to welcome the guests.
  Mayor Lee noted that Chairman Kuo cared for Nantou’s development very much which was also under the influence of Chief of Executive Yuan Wu Dun Yi and Chairman Kuo that Director Zhang accepted the invitation to visit Sun Moon Lake. Director Zhang spoke greatly of the environment of Sun Moon Lake and will further inquire about the cooperation of developing international class waterfront night theater.
  Chairman Kuo as a son-in-law of Nantou felt the need to contribute for the welfare of Nantou. As to the development of international class waterfront night theater, he hoped to maintain a balance in the eco system to avoid damaging the environment and the subject of environmental protection should be noted.
  Mayor Lee also accompanied Director Zhang and the others to visit Chung-Tai Buddhist Temple. Monk Shanwei Xiajue greeted them personally. Director Zhang admired the monk’s spirit of pursuing dharma. The magnificent structure of the temple also left a great impression with the director.
