The county government made 13 proposals for the year 2008, of which the central government approved ten. The budget totaled more than NT$130 million, giving Nantou the largest subsidy among the 25 counties and cities in Taiwan. The county government already has its next move planned, with seven proposals already approved with a budget of around NT$50 million for the second half of 2008 for building enhanced infrastructure in rural villages. Under this strategy, as the villages begin to improve then the county as a whole will be able to make progress.Deputy Director Liao noted that the Land Consolidation Engineering Bureau strictly monitors the operational efficiency of local governments in terms of subsidizing and assisting a construction project. The Nantou County Government received subsidies for its approved ten proposals for the year 2008 because the operational efficiency of this county government deserves recognition. He believes that all the various construction projects can be completed by the end of the year, under the principle that quality remains the priority. This way, all the residents in these villages will benefit. |
