Content嚗   On December 25, 2010, one of the Nantou Floral Exposition activities: Charming Samba Fun and Shining Christmas Dancing Party began in the square before Puli Chi-Hui Hall on Ren-Ai Road.. Magistrate Lee presided over the opening ceremony and stayed there to celebrate Christmas. The first highlight of the evening was that Magistrate Lee, Vice Speaker of County Council Yi-Chuan Pan, Puli township chief Yi-Hsiung Chou and many other guests all dressed up in different costumes. The Christmas atmosphere became therefore very lively.   Thousands of people joined the celebration parade. Forty teams from different institutions, schools, organizations and companies were dressed in different interesting and fun ways. This was the first Carnival kind of activity in Puli and the town was therefore full of joy.   During his speech, Magistrate Lee mentioned that the main venue of the Floral Carnival was in Puli. This year with Chief Chou's detailed planing, the carnival was held and accompanied by an energetic Samba Drum Team formed by 8 schools. The parade of forty teams dressed in special costumes demonstrate clearly the vitality and passion of Nantou residents..Magistrate Lee recognized therefore how the carnival features of the Floral Exposition were successfully created in the main venue.   Magistrate Lee also pointed out that in 2006, in Nantou County, there were only 23000 tourist from abroad. In 2010, the number would soon be 3 million, which is more than 10 times more. The increasing number of tourists has added to the reduction of the unemployment rate. The average income of Nantou County has also risen to top 10 in Taiwan. The efforts of the County Government in promoting tourism and agriculture has led to this positive result.   The parade was led by Magistrate Lee, Chief Chou and his wife. They walked around a few main streets in Puli and were cheered by people along the roads. People wished each other Merry Christmas. The atmosphere was very lively and warm.
