ROC 100 years Nantou International Super Triathlon started with 2011 Never Stop Challenge the Top Wuling Cycling on August 21. 6773 participants tried to reach the top at an altitude of 3275 meters. 388 top cyclists competed for the 1 million prize award of Triathlon. Tse-Huan Lin finished the route in 2 hours 34 minutes and 50 seconds and won the first prize for the fourth time consecutively. Yung-Yi Fang and Mao-Yuan Yang held the first and second places in the Triathlon competition so far, and they had good chance to win the 1 million prize award.
Wuling Cycling started at 5 o'clock in the morning. Magistrate Lee was present to shoot the start signal. Though only 388 cyclists were competing for the 1 million award, there were in total 6773 participants to finish the route. The number of participants was more than any other cycling events in Taiwan. Among the participants, 44 cyclists were from 15 countries such as the US, Japan, Canada, France, the UK, Hongkong, Burma, Malaysia, the Netherlands, China, Belgium, Germany, Korea, Australia and New Zealand.
The route started in the Center of Taiwan Monument in Puli and ended in Wuling where the altitude is 3275 meters. The landscape along the 55 km long route is beautiful, so Wuling Cycling has become the most attractive route to follow for the cyclists. It is very challenging so many cyclists from Taiwan and abroad would like to try.
It was misty when the 6773 cyclists started and the temperature went up as they had to bike uphill. They biked hard through the mountain areas in Puli and Ren-Ai to challenged their own limit.
The results of the competition are: Tse-Huan Lin finished the route in 2 hours 34 minutes and 50 seconds and won the first prize for the fourth time consecutively. Chi-Feng Huang held the 2nd place as he finished the route in 2 hours 52 minutes and 6 seconds. In the 3rd place was Li-Chuan Chen, who finished in 2 hours 57 minutes and 36 seconds. Those who attended the Cyling as part of the Triathlon competition and had the chance to win the 1 million prize award were Yung-Yi Fang (2 hours 41 minutes and 53 seconds), Mao-Yung Yang (2 hours 42 minutes 1 second), Chang-Chin Yeh (2 hours 49 minutes 46 seconds), Yan-Ching Chiang (2 hours 50 minutes 5 seconds), Chi-Wen Jiao held the 5th place, Cheng-Chan Wei the 6th place, Chi-Hao Huang the 7th place, Craig Johns from New Zealand the 8th place, Chin-Yuan Lai the 9th place, Ren-Hui Hsu the 10th place. They all received a Certificate of Cycling Hero and medals.
