Nantou County celebrated the anniversaries of married couples and praised the role models at the Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village, October 6
To pay tribute to the couples married for more than 50 years, congratulate the couples married for 60 years and promote the respect of the elderly, the Nantou County Government held the celebration of the 50th, 60th and 70th anniversaries of married couples in the county, in two sessions at the Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village on October 6. County Magistrate Lin Ming-chen attended and celebrated the memorable marriages with the couples together, sharing the happies and the most touching moment with them. On that day, there were couples married for 50, 60 and 70 years, respectively, role models of respected seniors and role models of distinguished elderly groups, coming from Puli Township, Zhushan Township, Zhongliao Township, Lugu Township, Yuchi Township, and Guoxing Township, respectively. They were honored in this simple but touching event.

County Magistrate Lin said that, it is the fortune cultivated for a century to be married for more than 50 years, during which the husbands and wives tolerate and help each other. More importantly, their children also respect their parents, living harmoniously in happy families. These senior couples are worthy to be honored as role models for the younger generation. In Nantou County, there are 591 couples married for 50 years, 339 couples married for 60 years and 31 couples married for 70 years, for a total of 961 model couples. Legislator Hsu also expressed that it is admirable to see good couples spending their married lives together for more than five decades, tolerating and helping each other without parting. It is also admirable for us to see them live in harmonious and happy families. She hopes that their love stories can serve as goals for the younger generations. Likewise, every family can be happy and harmonious. Finally, she wishes the couples to spend more loving and happy moments together in the future.
