More students “get Grade A and fewer students get Grade C”. On the morning of the 16th, County Magistrate Lin Ming-Chen commended Principal He Kuang-Ming of Shiukuang Senior High School, Principal Huang Mei-Ling of Caotun Junior High School, Principal Li Meng-Kuei of Hong Jen Junior High School, and Principal Yen Chiu-Li of Mingjian Junior High School for helping students get good grades in the Junior High Comprehensive Assessment. County Magistrate Lin especially presented certificates and a reward of NT$ 100,000 to the four schools as a recognition of their educational results. Lin also promises to do his best to provide the funds that the schools need for education and equipment, so as to enhance the teaching and learning quality for teachers and students.

County Magistrate Lin says after launching the “More A Less C” project, students have gotten better grades in the Comprehensive Assessment Program for Junior High School Students year by year. Lin hopes that all principals will educate students conscientiously, trigger students’ interest in learning, and encourage students with their hearts, so that students will become talents that contribute to the society in the future. Lin also promises that the county government will give full support to 169 schools in the county in terms of budgets for after-class programs and other aspects, so as to provide a good learning environment for students.

Last year, schools in Nantou County got 3% higher grades in the Comprehensive Assessment Program for Junior High School Students. This year, progress has also been made, especially in math, and the average grade ranks from twelfth to eleventh, apart from the six special municipalities. Hong Jen Junior High School and Caotun Junior High School have made progress in reducing the number of students getting Grade C by about 10%. Mingjian Junior High School, Shiukuang Senior High School, Hong Jen Junior High School and Caotun Junior High School have made progress in increasing the number of students getting 4A and 5A grades, ranging from 10% to 30%.
