Nantou County Magistrate Lin Ming-Chen and six mayors and magistrates, including the mayor of Taichung City, signed a declaration of cooperation “Creating a New Era Together, Planning for Central Taiwan” with their handprints.

The 2021 Regional Governance Online Forum of Seven Cities and Counties organized by Taichung City Government and Great Vision Magazine kicked off on the 23rd. Mayors and magistrates of seven cities and counties, including Taichung City Mayor Lu Hsiu-Yen, Changhua County Magistrate Wang Hui-Mei, Miaoli County Magistrate Hsu Yao-Chang, Hsinchu County Magistrate Yang Wen-Ke, Yunlin County Magistrate Chang Li-Shan, Chiayi City Mayor Huang Min-Hui, and Nantou County Magistrate Lin Ming-Chen, gathered to witness and push forward the most important and the largest public forum on regional cooperation since the beginning of epidemic prevention through action.

County Magistrate Lin Ming-Chen says he appreciates Mayor Lu and Taichung City Government for attentively organizing the forum, allowing everyone to have a deep discussion on the issues concerned by all in central Taiwan. Lin also appreciates Miaoli County Magistrate Hsu Yao-Chang for his great support in coping with Nantou County’s waste issue due to the lack of incinerators. He believes that Taichung and Hsinchu will also give support when the maintenance and establishment of their incinerators are completed. This is the greatest advantage of mutual aid through the Central Taiwan Regional Governance Platform. In fact, what citizens of Nantou County yearn for the most is that Taichung’s MRT to be extended to Nantou. It is hoped that by working together and through integration and communication, the development of central Taiwan will take a great leap forward.
