連至 AZ vaccination starts in Nantou and the second batch of 10,300 doses will be delivered soon, June 16 完整照片 Nantou County has been allocated 18,000 doses of AZ vaccine donated by the Japanese government, and the vaccination has started in 13 townships and cities and 5 large-scale vaccination stations on the 16th. The second batch of 10,300 doses of vaccine will be delivered to Nantou in the near future. Citizens for the vaccination will be registered based on the civil affair household registration and by age.

To facilitate the vaccination, Nantou Public Health Bureau has set up five large-scale vaccination stations in Puli Township, Caotun Township, Nantou City, Zhushan Township and Mingjian Township. On the 16th, County Magistrate Lin, Ming-Chen and legislator Hsu Shu-Hua went to the large-scale vaccination station at Zhangxing Elementary School in Nantou City at around 1 p.m. to learn about the vaccination status of older adults and show regard for their accompanying family members.

County Magistrate Lin said that vaccines for local residents are not enough and he hopes that the central government will provide more vaccines for the people. Many older adults feel distressed because they have not yet been vaccinated. Legislator Hsu Shu-Hua also said that the vaccines allocated by the central government to Nantou County are less than other counties and cities in terms of the proportion, and she hopes that the central government will provide adequate vaccines, considering the fact that there are more older adults in Nantou and that their resistance is weaker.

The large-scale vaccination station at Zhangxing Elementary School was set up in the school’s activity center. Older adults were allowed to enter the site before 1 p.m. To avoid crowds and gatherings, a checking counter, a registration counter, an evaluation section, a vaccination section and a rest area were set up, with large signs of different colors. After the older adults who were going to be vaccinated were seated under the guidance of the nursing staff, the doctor conducted the assessment and vaccination. The vaccination process was well-controlled and organized.

Noticing the older adults queuing in the sun outside the vaccination station, County Magistrate Lin asked the Public Health Bureau to prepare more chairs for the older adults to rest and more canopy tents were set up as well. Lin also hopes that the central government will provide more vaccines to meet the needs of the people.
