2016 Nantou Hot Spring Seasonal Event Officially Starts; First Activity Comes on Stage at Atayal Resort
    The 2016 Nantou Hot Spring Seasonal Event now begins! The first event began at the Atayal Resort on Nov. 12th where CM Lin Ming-Chen and all guests involved in this event started to light up fireworks made of bamboo tubes. The general public from all over the county was invited to come and visit the 3 main hot spring zones in Beigang River, Puli and Dongpu in Nantou to enjoy a hot spring bath. The Hot Spring Seasonal Event would continue to run until Nov. 30th. The county government also came out with pictures featuring hot spring postcards, hot spring and hotel tickets, and return tickets for air travel to Okinawa and plenty of trophies.     CM Lin said that the hot springs in Nantou are sodium bicarbonate spring and taking a hot spring bath is very good for the body and for health. If visitors come to take a hot spring tour in Nantou, they can also enjoy the local specialties and cuisine such as the strawberries and coffee produced in Guoxing Township. These are all the unique food that can guarantee a satisfactory trip. Legislator Ma Wen-Chun, County Council Member Chiu Mei-Ling, Lin Fang-Yu, and Township Mayor Chiu Pu-Sheng in Guoxing Township all spoke with one voice and highly recommended that the general public from this country are welcome to visit Nantou and enjoy a relaxing trip well worth its value.

    To go with the Hot Spring Seasonal Event, the Atayal Resort also came out with some discounts for a free entry to the park starting from 9am - 12pm on Nov. 12th and 13th, which attracted many people to avail of an early entry. Some people even arrived as early as 7 in the morning. Besides the aboriginal dance and other performances, some exotic food, which had been combined with aboriginal and Hakka cultural cuisine, are also available on site. There are mascots in the park, internet celebrities and traveling on a small train around the park, which can be quite exciting.

    The second round of the Hot Spring Seasonal Event took place in the Puli hot spring area on Nov. 19th. An event promotion called the “iLohas Tour-Intellectual Tour to Puli Hot Spring” was held at the SoLas Hot Springs Resort to attract those tourists who love cycling. Tourists were invited to ride on a bike to travel around the town, taste the hot spring cuisine and experience the DIY handicraft. The SoLas Hot Springs Resort would also offer a free access to outdoors SPA pool for tourists to experience taking a hot spring bath on that day.

    Last but not least, the event was rounded off at the Dongpu Hot Spring area on Nov. 26th. There is a very popular torch lit procession in traditional bathrobes available for all. The tourists who join the procession can win a free bathrobe, and carry a torch light while taking a stroll on a winter’s night. They can also appreciate the eight-part polyphony - Pasibutbut performed by the Bunun tribe, and enjoy the featured dishes of the Bunun tribe.
