Innovative Information Applied in Nantou County Ranks No. 1 in National Award
The Ministry of Education (MOE) handled the 2016 Promotion Project of Action Learning for National Elementary Schools and Junior High Schools. MOE tried to integrate the Information Technology into instruction by applying it to the innovative applied team in a selective competition. These two projects are the icon for the critical competitions of some national information education projects. The good news is that there were 6 schools that outperformed the rest of the 201 schools in the assessment of the action learning result for participation among schools. For the awarded number of schools found in national counties and cities, Nantou was awarded as No. 1, which is exactly the same as Kaohsiung City.
Within the 6 awarded schools, as for the elementary school group, there are Qiao Guang Elementary School, Dacheng Elementary School, and Nantou Elementary School. As for the junior high school group, there are Ming Jian Junior High School, Xin-Yi Junior High School, and Hong-Ren Junior High School. Among them, the principal from Hong-Ren Junior High School Chen, Heng-Hsu, Principal of Ming Jian Junior High School Yen, Chiu-Li, Principal of Xin-Yi Junior High School Wang, Jen-Wen, Principal of Qiao Guang Elementary School Hung, Hsu-Liang, and Principal of Nantou Elementary School Wu, Yu-Feng were awarded with the Technology Leadership Award granted for the principals. It showed the best result, which he found after all these years.
In terms of MOE information technology integrated into instruction, there are 4 schools in this county awarded with such an honor as counted from 20 awarded schools on the national award list. These schools are known as the Qiao Guang Elementary School, Dacheng Elementary School, Nantou Elementary School, and Xin-Yi Junior High School. The 4 schools also received an incentive of NT$ 200,000 for the information appliance from MOE, and they never stopped investing in teaching facilities upgraded and teaching innovation. Among these schools, Qiao Guang Elementary School and Dacheng Elementary School were awarded twice for this award in consecutive years, which is indeed not so easy.
Each awarded school in this county takes advantage of the local feature by applying the information technology to the course design to carry out the introductory marketing. It allows children to learn from local living experience and connect with it. In addition, it can increase the cultural value of local industry.
Principal of Qiao Guang Elementary School Hung, Hsu-Liang showed the entire teaching faculty and students to use this “farm technology—U and Me live in symbiosis” as the topic. He started to work on a course called fish and plants live in symbiosis. In addition to increase children’s self-learning ability, and showing the way to the community industry being upgraded, he also elevated the idea to get to know the concept of you and I live in symbiosis from technology and environment. This is the only way to demonstrate that ideas to coexist. Furthermore, Principal of Dacheng Elementary School Lin, Chu-Te and his teacher team also introduced the topic of being a “Maker to breathe freely” to children so that they are allowed to look straight into the environmental impact brought by PM2.5. It allows the children to cultivate the ability to analyze and solve the problems.
