Chinese New Year Prayer with Blessings from the Earth God and Goddess Dedicated efforts of the county government raise the well-being of county residents
    The county government organized a Chinese New Year Prayer on February 2nd with special blessings from the Earth God and Goddess of the Zinan Temple in Zhushan. County mayor Ming-Chen Lin expressed his deep gratitude to the County Council and all circles for their support of his administration, which accounts for the high citizen satisfaction with the county government and a well-being ranking in the Top 6 of all counties in Taiwan. He urged the members of his government to persist in their efforts to increase the happiness and prosperity of all county residents. County mayor Lin and Vice County mayor Cheng-Sheng Chen personally handed out wealth-attracting coins, golden eggs, and little red envelopes attracting numerous citizens and government members in an exciting atmosphere.

    County mayor Lin pointed out that all county residents appreciate the relentless efforts and constant innovations carried out by county government members over the past two years. An opinion poll conducted by TVBS news in December of last year further reveals that the citizen satisfaction with the government rose from 16th in the first year after inauguration to 9th place, while the well-being ranking improved to 6th nationwide. The county government has also received praise and encouragement from all circles of society for the significant reduction of county debts. However, the government is not complacent about its achievements since there is still wide room for improvement. All government members will double their efforts in the New Year with the goal of realizing even greater achievements and raising the happiness and prosperity of the county.

    County mayor Lin also stated that the county government will organize several large-scale events such as the Lantern Festival, the Sand Sculpture Art Festival, and the dinosaur exhibition this year. The Lantern Festival has already attracted over 2.5 million visitors since the lanterns were lighted on January 21st, while the sand sculpture culture park area has generated revenues in excess of NT$ 4 million. These events have created huge opportunities for local businesses and are widely praised by the public. Local residents have actively invited citizens from all over the island to visit the county and participate in these events on all major social networks. The breathtaking Qingjing high-mountain trail will also soon be inaugurated, which is expected to provide a major boost to tourism. The county government will continue to develop and construct even more excellent attractions and facilities, which will attract visitors and spur consumption, leading to a new wave of tourism and boom of the tourism industry.

    County councilors Ching-Shui Shih, Chun-Ting Chien, Wen-Chun Huang, Chen-Yen Tseng, Tsai-Yun Wang, Fang-Yu Lin, Library of Taiwan Historical Director Hung-Ming Chang, former Agricultural Commission Minister Chih-Ching Chen, and representatives from art, culture, industry, and tourism circles also participated in this lively and exciting event. A Tai Chi Sword Dance marked the prelude of the group prayer activity. County mayor Lin also invited VIP guests to propose a toast and offer blessings to the county residents for good fortune, wealth, happiness, favorable weather, safety, and success in his area of jurisdiction in the Year of the Rooster.
