Taichung International Travel Fair Kickoff Vice County mayor Chen Plugs Nantou Businesses
The 2017 International Spring Travel Fair in Taichung, organized by China Times, a member of Want Want China Times Media Group, kicked off in a grand fashion in the China Times International Expo Center on February 17. The venue features 700 booth spaces and the fair is the largest of its kind in Central Taiwan. Vice County mayor Cheng-Sheng Chen personally attended the fair to promote exhibitors from Nantou. The fair lasted until February 20 and admission was free for the general public.
During the inauguration ceremony, Senior Vice President of Want Want Media Mr. Keng-Cheng Wu expressed his gratitude to businesses from all over Taiwan for their participation in this event on behalf of his media group. Taichung Mayor Chia-Lung Lin, Changhua County mayor Ming-Ku Wei, Miaoli County mayor Yao-Chang Hsu, and Hsinchu County mayor Ching-Chun Chiu led exhibitors from their counties on stage to introduce the local tourism industry and agricultural specialties. The atmosphere in the venue was lively and electrifying.
Vice County mayor Chen stated that the Nantou Lantern Festival drew over 4 million visitors. Nantou businesses who were invited as exhibitors expressed their gratitude to Want Want China Times Media Group for provided assistance in the promotion of the Central Taiwan tourism industry. The group has also established a Coupon Inspection Center that carries out controls for consumers in the areas of tourism and hygiene with an emphasis on consumer protection. Nantou businesses offered a wide variety of multicultural tourism and agricultural items for fair visitors. This 4-day event gave visitors an opportunity to plan high-quality trips for the whole family over the entire year.
Nantou is a major tourism destination in Taiwan. Tourism and other related businesses such as Atayal Resort, Xitou Monster Village, Puli Feeling 18, Xinyi Fruit & Vegetable Production Cooperative, Meat Market, Sweetheart Witch, Puli Paper Factory, and Fu Mei Hotel from Nantou County occupied around 70 booths.
The fair was divided into seven sections: International Tourism, Formosa Recreational Tourism, Taichung Tourism Industry, Souvenirs & Gifts, Hotel Resorts, Outdoor Articles, and Tourism Promotion. The fair also featured free hands-on activities and exciting programs and performances for participants such as cute mascot performances and sexy dance performance by young and pretty “hot spring ambassadors”. On top of that, the organizer provided a large variety of attractive prizes such as package tours, 5-star hotel accommodation vouchers, buffet coupons, TV sets, washing machines, air purifiers, and bicycles, turning the fair into a must-see event.
