    Zhushan Township will hold The Comprehensive Jiao Festival for the first time in 300 years. The Nantou County Magistrate Lin Ming-chen had the companion of the County Councilor Cai Yi-zhu in the inspection of the road infrastructure on improving numerous road surfaces from downtown to the suburbs. The impacts of the lack of regular road improvements on the pavements for years and the cracks in the AC pavements have led risks of the traffic safety to the residents. The Country Magistrate Mr. Lin commended the Public Works Department of Nantou County Government for improving downtown road pavements before the end of September to provide flat and safe roads to the visitors participating The Jiao Festival.

    The County Magistrate Mr. Lin indicated that The Jiao Festival this year was jointly held by 9 large temples, and was also the greatest for the first time in 300 years in Zhushan Township. However, because the roads were not improved over the past 20 years, the AC pavements cracked with excessively rough surface. In addition to the drillings in the process of construction works, the roads were devastatingly damaged and the road traffic safety was affected. In order to provide the residents with flat and safe roads to use, the county government has invested $12,000,000 to conduct improvements focusing on seriously damaged roads. And the project should be accomplished before the end of September for positive helps to The Jiao Festival.

    The County Magistrate Mr. Lin inspected numerous roads in downtown area, and went to Ping Ding Village to realize the current situation of Zhoushui Nong Road, which is the major road for farming and agricultural transportation. There was a 2km long rough surface which is hard for passing and the torrential downpour in June made the agricultural road rough and dangerous. The County Magister Mr. Lin commended the Public Works Department to pave PC surface over the 500 meters way seriously damaged.

    As to the infrastructure road improvement on Xinsheng Road, the roadsides were badly damaged over the years, and the AC layers were overused with crack. The road becoming rough with small stones affected the traffic safety to the residents in the neighborhood and the pedestrians. The County Magistrate Mr. Lin commended the Land Department to improve the road situation after the on-site inspection.

    Besides, the County Magistrate Mr. Lin inspected the 1st stage improvement construction of Cao Pi Gou drainage tube. The drainage tubes used to be ditches. And the front area of the downstream section had been successfully treated. The upstream section is now a ditch with soft structure with the insufficient river cross section, in order to prevent the ditches collapsed by the torrential downpour, and deepen the revetment. The County Magistrate indicates the Public Works Department to conduct the improvement construction in the earliest time to ensure the safety of this area.
