The county government has been investing long-term support and paid attention to the national language competition. With the joint efforts of language contest team members, competitors and instructors, they have made breakthroughs in this year's national language arena to create outstanding results.
Student Lin Chien Ya, 6th grade Nantou Elementary, took the first place on behalf of Nantou County in the competitive "Chinese Calligraphy" subject. Instructor teacher Director Wei Mei Jun, discovered her well-structured calligraphy when Lin was in 2nd grade. With fine control of the pen, she is a rare, talented Calligrapher, so he lobbied for Lin Chien Ya’s parents to allow her to undertake training from director Wei, where the two started a - year journey of ink and paper.
Due to learning early, with hard work and care, every time the teacher presents other people's works, Lin listens carefully to not miss any details, learning faster than anyone else, and coming out on top during competition. Her parents supported her all the way; her mother said that ever since she started learning calligraphy, Chien Ya had gained a sense of self confidence and accomplishment, her academic performance is also admirable, without worries for her family.
Therefore, her parents at home strongly support Lin Chien Ya, so she can devote herself to her favorite hobby - Calligraphy. In the last month of preparation for the national language competition, Director Wei gave her lessons that lasted at least half-hour on a daily basis, or one copy each day, and told Chien Ya that if she did her best, even in failure, she would have no regrets; but to not do her best, then regret it afterwards, would only bring sadness.
Lin Chien Ya, a little calligrapher, won 1st place at the nationals and set a successful example for the out-of-town children of Nantou County. Success did not come by accident; one must plow the bitter fields of hardship, to reap the sweet fruits of success.
