    On January 3, Magistrate Lin Ming-chen hosted the inauguration ceremony of the Nantou County Scenic Area Administration. He expects this newly established institution will bring new development and changes to Nantou tourism. With good planning and management, marketing and promotion, as well as links to resources, it will bring prosperous development to the county’s tourism industry.

    The Nantou County Scenic Area Administration is a level 2 institution affiliated with the Department of Tourism, located on the second floor of the Nantou County Government Administrative Building. With six months of preparation, its inauguration ceremony was held on the 3rd. Officials and guests, including County Councilor Hsu A-kan, Huang Wen-chun, Chien Chun-ting, Chien Ching-hsien, Lee Chi-tien, Director General of Taiwan Amusement Park Association, Lin Chih-ying (Nantou Tourist Association), associations related to tourism in Nantou, and business representatives participated in the inauguration ceremony.

    In Magistrate Lin’s speech, he expressed that the landscape in Nantou is splendid, with many natural sightseeing resources. To promote the quality of tourism and enhance the management of sightseeing facilities in Nantou, the County Government established the “Nantou County Scenic Area Administration” to assign special personnel responsible for the maintenance of all sightseeing facilities in the county, including the Cingjing Skywalk, Ruilong Waterfall Viewing Platform, Xinyi ShuangLong Suspension Bridge, the planning and construction of the Hutoushan Scenic Area (including all tourist facilities). It is expected to promote the operation and management of various scenic spots to allow maintenance to improve gradually. In addition to providing visitors with better quality service, in the future it will also be associated with tourism resources in different towns and townships in the county to continue promoting tourism in Nantou County with a new and lively approach.

    Director Li and Director Lin also gave high credit to the development of Nantou’s tourism. They expressed their gratitude to Magistrate Lin and his team to lead the businesses in achieving even more. In the latter half of this year, the number of visitors have shown an increase. It is believed that the establishment of Nantou Scenic Area Administration will boost up Nantou’s tourism.

    The “Nantou County Scenic Area Administration” is composed with the Administration Section and Public Works Section. The new director, Liao Pei-hui, expressed that in the future the scenic area will provide visitors with a safe sightseeing environment, diverse travel and scenic spots, and in-depth tours.
