Groundbreaking Wan Lai Industrial Park on the 10th and holding a Business Invitation Conference on the 18th
To promote the cluster effect of local featured industry and to increase job opportunities, the Nantou County Government planned to construct the “Nantou Wan Lai Industrial Park” in the Jiadongjiao Area of Nantou City. Its groundbreaking ceremony was held on the January 10, estimating to attract NT$3.5 billion in investment from manufacturers. In about one year’s time after the construction, land will be handed over to manufacturers to build factories simultaneously. In approximately 3 years’ time, the overall development of the park will be completed.
Magistrate Lin Ming-chen expressed that this project will be very helpful to increase job opportunities for young people and develop the economy. The inhabitants of Shenmu Village can have stable jobs, too. Overcoming difficulties, the County Government is actively promoting the development project of the Wan Lai Industrial Park, which will give preference to the applications of sightseeing factories and food processing factories. It is hoped that once the development is completed, the park will allow enterprises to reside there as soon as possible to retain Nantou’s population by increasing job opportunities. We welcome enterprises interested in this project to invest actively.
Huang Cheng-yung, the president of a development company, expressed that the area of the park is 16.588 hectares according to the plan, and 10.19 hectares of the land is for sale on the market. The public facilities, including an ecological detention pond, green belts in the surrounding areas for isolating purposes, a service center, sewage processing factory, electricity, water, gas pipelines, and roads at 15m wide will occupy about 39% of the total area of the park. Equipped with complete facilities, it is estimated to be completed by 2021. Estimating to provide 1,000 job opportunities, its production value will be NT$3 billion per year.
On January 18, the Nantou County Government sponsored an enterprise invitation conference at Nan Don Wedding Hall. It attracted about 40 manufacturers who attended the briefing. About 50% of the manufacturers there showed to interest in residing there. Director-General Li Cheng-wei, Economic Affairs Department, expressed that the park will have a total of 16.588 hectares. The cost of development will be taken as reference for the land’s price, including 10.19 hectares of land for industrial purposes. In the project, there will be 14 patches, the largest of which is about 6,000-7,500 ping and the smallest of which is about 500-800 ping. The building coverage ratio and the floor area are 60% and 240%, respectively. The price of the patches falls between NT$71,000 to 75,000 per ping. The land will be for sale between the end of January and mid-February, when the manufacturers turn in their applications.
