    Different from the way it occurred in the past, all the “Whiz Kids” - winners of the County Magistrate Award at all levels in Nantou County - gathered at Nantou County Government. It was the first time County Magistrate Lin presented this award in person. The students were overjoyed, and parents also felt honor having the Magistrate as the award presenter. Li Mei-yun of Ying Pei Junior High School at Nantou expressed that this ceremony was different from those in the past. It was nice to receive the award from the Magistrate’s hands and take photos with him. She felt great, she said.

    The “County Magistrate Award” of Nantou County was held on June 24 at the hall of Nantou County Government. Accompanied by teachers and parents, 485 students received the award and took photos with County Magistrate Lin, leaving them with good memories.

    County Magistrate Lin expressed that all the award-winning students are the most outstanding and the best ones at different schools. Presenting them with this award, it will not only encourage them but also boost up their confidence. He expects each award-winning student will accomplish outstandingly in the future, becoming top talents in the society and exemplars of Nantou. In the poll conducted by magazines, the competitiveness of Nantou’s education has made much progress, ranking as number 8 in Taiwan. Nantou County Government aims to improve the schools at all levels in their facilities and environment to cultivate more brilliant students.

    County Magistrate Lin attended the ceremony in person, and presented a special edition of Easy Card with the calligraphy, “Excellent in Academic Studies and Conducts,” by Master Li Gu-mo to each student from National Chi Nan International University, Nan Kai University of Technology, and all the elementary and high schools (including junior high schools, senior high schools, and vocational senior high schools) in Nantou. Director Li Meng-chen of the Department of Education of the County Government expressed that an Easy Card is presented to each of the award-winners to congratulate them on an easy life and the Easy Card can be carried with them to accompany them in daily life situations. Zhang Shu-han of Jongle Elementary School Zhongliao Township expressed that she feels happy to attend this County Magistrate Award Ceremony held by the country government, and that everybody could meet there. In addition to receiving the specially designed Easy Card, she also feels great to have been blessed by the County Magistrate.

    People packed the hall early in the morning on the ceremony. There were 1,200 people in the hall. First, the Marching Band of the Affiliated Senior High School of National Chi Nan University performed “Fly High - Happiness is with me.” Then, Guanhua Elementary School of Nantou City performed “Graduation Duo - Crosstalk Show.” The performers blessed the students on behalf of County Magistrate Lin with their talks, wishing all the graduating students to “aspire as high as Yushan, with foresight farther than Zhuoshui River, and conduct clear as the water of Ming Lake.”
