County Magistrate Lin Ming-chen hosted the county administration meeting on July 23. In response to the construction of the youth housing project by the Economic Affairs Department and the construction of the child care center by the Social and Labor Office, he instructed that all the progress should speed up, and cooperate with the promotion of the industrial zone in order to increase the employment opportunities and the Youth’s willingness to return to their hometown. The ideas are letting young people have great jobs, live and work in peace without worries about child care issues, especially for those newly married young couples.
County Magistrate Lin said that the county government has raised nearly NTD$200 million in funds and is actively planning to construct youth housing so that young people can afford to buy a house in Nantou. The government is also actively developing the industrial zone so that graduates can apply for jobs without leaving their hometown. In addition to the topic of child care, which is the most troubling one for young couples, the government is planning to construct child care centers in the four major towns while the remaining towns and villages will seek suitable public buildings to arrange child care services according to the public’s needs. Currently, the child care centers in Nantou City and Zhushan Township have started planning and design, while the rest will follow up one after another in the future.
In addition, County Magistrate Lin also showed his attention to the projects including Green Carving Park in Guoxing Township, Sung Po Ling Glass Observation Point, the enterprises recruitment for the old parliament investment, the urban land readjustment of the Lantian Street in Nantou City, and the planning of Hongxiang Hot Spring. County Magistrate Lin instructed all units in charge to step up their efforts and the communication should be strengthened during the process so as to facilitate the smooth progress of the project.
During the meeting, the amendment draft of Article 55 of the “Nantou County Construction Management Autonomy Regulations” was revised. The Economic Affairs Department stated that when the former Control Yuan inspected the Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village, the operators reflected that the tribal houses in the village were built according to the traditional methods from aboriginal people in Taiwan. However, it has been 32 years without the legal documents due to conflict with the regulations in the Law of Architecture. After the investigation and the discussion between the central and local government, the Ministry of the Interior has indicated that the county government has the building authority and the rights to propose the amendments. After the review and approval from the parliament, the amendments can be announced and implemented. In the future, it can resolve a contradiction between the regulations and the reality, thus, achieving the goal of preserving traditional cultures and construction techniques.
