Lin Ming-chen assumed his office and promised to work for the economy, welfare, and continued operation of major policies
County Magistrate Lin Ming-chen of the Nantou County Government assumed office for the second time in an inauguration ceremony on December 25, 2018. Lin Ming-chen expressed that in the coming four years, he will put all his efforts towards the economy. A magistrate contributes to the county for only a very short period. If he can achieve significant goals, he hopes he will become a memorable one.
The 18th county magistrate oath to office and inauguration ceremony was held at 10:00am in the hall of the county government building. Hosted by the Minister of the Atomic Energy Council Hsieh Shou-shing, Lin Min-chen received the seal and stepped onto his office.
Led by a samba drum team, County Magistrate Lin Ming-chen walked into the front entrance of the county government, where he was received enthusiastically by his colleagues. The former Nantou County Magistrate Lin Long-yuan, the former acting County Magistrate Chen Chi-ching, Supervisor Chen Chi-heng of Jiji Township, Supervisor Chen Tung-lu of Jhushan Town, local esquires, scholars, farmers, workers, businesspeople and others attended the ceremony.
The more votes he received, the more responsibilities he should shoulder. It is necessary for him to secure more income for his citizens to make peoples’ live better. This is his first priority, County Magistrate Lin said. He thanked the people for their support. In handing over the seal, he remined himself not to forget his initial intentions. He will work hard to show his gratitude to the voters. In the coming four years, he guarantees Nantou residents three promises and four assurances. The three promises include a good economy, good welfare, and continued operation of major policies.
Regarding a good economy, he will complete the development of five major zones in Nantou in the next four years, including the Fuxin Hot Spring development project, Puli Micro Park, Nantou City Wanglai Park, Caotun Smart Handicraft Park, and Jhushan Creative Park. These projects will bring a few thousand local job opportunities, thus transforming the region.
Regarding good welfare, he will take better care of seniors and children. He expects young people to come home and contribute themselves to the local community. Starting from December 1, seniors holding senior citizen cards can take bus rides for free. They can take the Kuo-Kuang bus to visit their relatives in Taipei and go traveling. He will build about 80 to 100 youth housing units on county land, with the area of about 1500 ping, around Wenhua Road. The construction will begin in the next year at the earliest.
Regarding continued operation, he will continue the policies of free student lunch, false teeth subsidization for elderly, senior citizen benefits, and more. Good policies will be continued.
He promises he will develop more scenic spots, promote agricultural product marketing, and take care of area residents. Moreover, he will assist the industrial economy and all other businesses in balanced development. He promises to take care of the county’s people from the cradle to the grave, helping students to remain competitive in learning, minorities to be taken care of, young people to work with peace of mind, and the elderly to live safely and peacefully.
