In Taiwan Filial Piety Award,Lin Jin-ye of Nantou is honored
    Living in Zhongliao Township, although Lin Jin-ye is receiving chemotherapy treatments because she is suffering from cancer, she still attends to her mother-in-law, aged 95, dedicatedly. She feeds her, baths her, massages her and the like, giving her considerate care and concern. Her filial piety was honored by the Ministry of Interior. On the 10th, she was honored in Sun Moon Lake Teachers’ Hostel. She said that she and her mother-in-law have a life in each other. She worries that if either one of them leaves this world first, the other person will take the challenge of everyday life alone. Therefore, she transforms their love and trust for each other into the courage of fighting against the illness, facing the challenge of life together. Her story touches us all.

    In the “2019 Filial Piety Award” held in the morning on the 10th at Sun Moon Lake Teachers’ Hostel, 30 people, aged from 13 to 80, were honored with the Filial Piety Award. Each of them had a touching story behind them. Minister Xu Guo-yong of the Ministry of Interior, Deputy Magistrate Chen Zheng-sheng, Mayor Liu Qi-fan of Yuchih Township, and Legislator Cai Pei-hui attended the ceremony to greet the winners.

    Deputy Magistrate Chen mentioned that some of the winners are seniors aged 90 or more. A few of them are even 100 years old. Their health and wellbeing are the result of the care and concern given by their sons and daughters. Therefore, all of them are worthy of the honor. Their contributions to the families and care for the seniors are worthy of our exemplar, touching us all.
