4 Nantou Schools Showed Effective Grade C Reductions at the Comprehensive Assessment Program for Junior High School Students – Deputy Magistrate Chen Awarded the Schools NTD 640,000 in Facility Subsid
The Sanguang, Rihsin, Renai and Guoxing Junior High Schools had shown outstanding Grade C reduction results at the Comprehensive Assessment Program for Junior High School Students, and have therefore been publicly recognized by the Minister of Education at the 2019 National Education Department (Bureau) Director General Meeting. In the morning of the 12th, Deputy Magistrate Chen Zheng-sheng met with the four schools’ principals, Wu Ming-shun, Huang Shu-juan, Zhu Pei-fen and Lin Jia-ru at the Magistrate Office to listen to and understand each school’s educational strategy as well as their suggestions. Deputy Magistrate Chen also expressed his acknowledgement of the four schools’ dedicated educational efforts and performance in terms of the Grade C reductions. Deputy Magistrate Chen hoped that the four schools’ Grade C reduction results can be shared with other schools as reference and that everyone can collaborate on working towards further Grade C reduction, so that the students can learn to love reading and enjoy learning.

Deputy Magistrate Chen indicated that, the Nantou County sits on a vast area where there are a relatively higher proportion of rural regions and therefore a comparatively higher number of Grade C students who still need to improve. For these four schools’ dedication to reinforcing their academic capabilities and due to their public recognition from the Ministry of Education, it is evident that the County has already achieved its initial performance results in regards to promoting the Grade C reduction and Grade A increase project. We are thankful for the dedication and efforts of the four schools’ principals and their schooling teams’ teachers, which have had positive impacts on education. To encourage these four schools that have been successful in Grade C reduction, the County Government has specially designated matching grants, which after approval from the Ministry of Education, will provide subsidies to these schools. A total of NTD 640,000 in matching grants will be used for information appliances and broadcasting appliances used for training English listening skills, which will be an award meant to strengthen educational facilities and upgrade the appliances available.
