    Three outstanding students from Nantou, Wu Xing-ming and Xie Yu-han from the Senior High School Department and Junior High School Department of Shiukuang Senior High School respectively and Weng Xing-yao of Caotun Junior High School won the 2019 President Educational Award. To honor them, Mayor Lin Ming-chen received and honored them in the morning on the 9th at the Mayor Office and presented them with gift coupons. He praised their efforts and encouraged them to keep up with the good works, approaching their life goals.

    Principal He Guang-ming of Shiukuang Senior High School, Principal Huang Mei-ling of Caotun Junior High School, and Coach Li Song-xing accompanied the three students to the county government building to receive their prizes. Among them, Wu Xing-ming won the Gold medal in karate at the National High School Games. Xie Yu-han won 2 Gold medals and 1 Bronze medal in karate at the National High School Games when she was at junior high school. Weng Xing-yao won three Gold medals in wrestling in the National High School Games. Worthy of mentioning is the fact that there were students at the junior high school department and senior high school department of Shiukuang Senior High School winning the President Educational Award for 2 years consecutively.

    Mayor Lin expressed that the county government recommends top students in the county to the central government for the consideration of the President Educational Award every year. It is difficult for them to be awarded. They must perform brilliantly in academic subjects, talents, and conducts. He would like to thank the principals and coach for their dedicated teaching and hope they can continue to find out more potential students performing brilliantly in academic subjects and conducts.

    The 3 award winners expressed in the interview that they would like to thank the school and various sectors for their cultivation and resources offered. They had been supported by good people along their way of learning. Winning awards was not the destination of life but the conservation of more energy for the next goals. They are enthusiastic in securing more honors in the future.
