    On the penultimate day of Nantou Global Tea Expo events, former President Yingchiu Ma came to visit on the 19th, accompanied by County Magistrate Mingchen Lin, Nantou County Council Secretary-General Kuochung Chen, Nantou County Agricultural Association Director-General Mingjui Tseng and others to the Award Winning Tea Tasting. After tasting special tea worth tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of dollars per kilogram, former President Ma praised the endless fragrance of teas and Nantou County for promoting tea as a world-class industry to show his deep admiration to County Magistrate Lin, who owned the great feat.

    The Award Winning Tea Tasting was one of the most attractive pavilions of the Tea Expo, where the public could drink more than 10 different flavors of tea from various parts of the country with just TWD100, such as Oolong, Jinxuan, Tikuanyin, Honey-scented black tea, etc., which were all top-level special teas. County Magistrate Lin, former President Ma and others listened to teamakers introducing the characteristics and taste of various tea, tasted the various teas one by one, and felt a variety of sweet and mellow flavors from the tea in The Award Winning Tea Tasting.

    In addition to The Award Winning Tea Tasting, County Magistrate Lin and former President Ma also went to the International Tea Art Hall to taste Dongding Oolong Tea, and signed their signatures on the tea box. Former President Ma attracted people to take pictures with him, showing he is still charming without any diminution.

    Deputy County Magistrate Chen said that the Tea Expo was held in such lovely weather in the holidays and ushered in former President Ma to go to taste a variety of different teas, while he also witnessed the efforts of Nantou County over the years. Deputy County Magistrate Chen appreciated that Agricultural Department, county farmers’ associations and township farmers’ associations to counsel farmers to plant tea and strive to improve tea quality, so people could drink tea with worry-free and trustworthy. In addition, this year all tents had air-conditioning, which enhanced the public to join this event in such warm days. He expected the Tea Expo will have a new breakthrough next year, improving the sales performance of farmers, and that people all over the country who love the taste of tea will think of Nantou tea first.
