    The 67th Nantou County Games was launched on November 2, 2019 at County Stadium. Magistrate Lin Ming-zhen of Nantou hosted the opening ceremony. Teams from 13 towns and townships, and the county government entered the stadium in order. In total, there were 15,381 athletes and coaches attending the ceremony. They will compete in 35 contests in 27 venues. Magistrate Lin Ming-zhen hopes that by sponsoring the sports activities, it will display Nantou folks’ courage and spirit of challenging oneself. He also expects athletes to achieve good results in the contests in the following days.

    Magistrate Lin expressed that since his inauguration, he has emphasized sport training at the foundation level. In the 2019 National Athletic Meet, Nantou won 15 gold medals, 15 silver medals, and 13 bronze medals, ranking 7th in Taiwan and winning the Control Yuan President’s Award. Accomplishing brilliantly in the history of Nantou sports, it has written a new chapter on its prestigious records and performed outstandingly in the National Athletic Meet. In the opening ceremony, the outstanding athletes and coaches in Nantou County were honored, sharing their glory with Nantou folks.

    The 67th County Games lasted for 4 days, from November 2 to November 5. The contests on November 2 were items for civil servants and teachers. The contests on November 3 to 5 were mainly track and field games. The contests of the other 34 items were held in 26 sports halls in the county. Other than regular contests, adaptive physical education contests were held on November 3 in the Stadium, including track and field games, swimming, table tennis, Bocce, pétanque and fun games. Likewise, adaptive physical education athletes could also perform in the sport arena, manifesting their merits outdoor.

    After 4 days of contests, the closing ceremony of the 67th Nantou County Games was held at B2 in the County Government Building on November 5, 2019. Deputy Magistrate Chen Cheng-shen, attended the ceremony and honored the winners. He also praised the achievements of the athletes: 3 of them broke the record of Nantou County in 1 item and 5 of them broke the record of the County Games in 3 items. Obviously, Nantou has been making continuous progress in sports.
