    On the 16th, the “2019 Moving into homes in Nantou – The new hometown for Taiwanese new immigrants.” In the celebration of the International Migrant Day the multicultural activities and decorations in the venues were vivid and exciting. In this international carnival Taiwanese new immigrants, young and old, joined in the event, interacting with the crowds in and having a good time

    Deputy Magistrate Chen Cheng-sheng expressed that about 20 years ago new Taiwanese immigrants had to overcome many cultural barriers because of cultural differences. Nevertheless, in recent years, with the efforts of Nantou County Government and groups, the problem had been improved significantly. New Taiwanese immigrants proved themselves considerably in different sectors. Deputy Magistrate Chen gave Wang Yeh, the principal of Tong Tou Elementary School in Zhushan as example. He is the second generation of Indonesian immigrants. He performs well not only in the field of education but also in the field of sports, being a volleyball player and coach in the national team. In addition, he is also a member of NTT band, performing beautiful songs in different languages in different corners of Nantou.

    December 18th was the International Migrant Day. In this year, Nantou County Government celebrated the festival in advance. In the celebrations, performers singing Indonesian and Vietnamese songs. Heng Ha Ha Xiang He Musicians performed the Love Forever Fan Dance. Xin Cuo Village dance class performed the Indonesian dances and Shang Lin All-round Dance Troupe performed K-pop dances. In the venue, policy introduction and consultation services of different government agencies were also provided. The event was vivid and solid.
