2019 the presentation ceremony of civilian firefighters’ year of service and the honoring of outstanding personnel in Nantou
Nantou Fire Department honored civilian firefighters, EMT, the fire prevention and promotion squad, and the civilian disaster rescue team for their selfless dedication. On the 11th, the “2019 presentation ceremony of civilian firefighters’ year of service and the honoring outstanding personnel” was held in the international conference room, National Archive Administration, Provincial Government Zhongxing New Village. Deputy Magistrate Chen Cheng-shen hosted the ceremony and presented the year of service badge, exemplar awards, elites’ awards, outstanding performance awards, and the Magistrate Awards.
In this year, there were 315 who received the year of service badges (including 168 volunteer firefighters, 74 volunteers, and 73 fire prevention promoters), 81 Magistrate’s Awards, and 122 Director’s Awards. There were 3 outstanding firefighters in Taiwan, including Hsieh Hao-kuang, Ku Ming-chun (volunteer firefighter), and Huang Yu-kuei (EMT volunteer), 10 exemplar firefighters, volunteer firefighters, fire prevention and promotion team, EMT volunteers, and 15 outstanding rescue teams and personnel, with the total of 546. The most distinguished personnel were Chien Chien-feng, consultant of the 3rd Squadron, the 1st Corp, and Wei Chi-feng, consultant of Caotun Volunteer Firefighter Brigade Volunteer. Both of them had served for 50 years. Deputy Director Chen Ching-cheng of Volunteer Firefighter Corp and Commander Lin Chen-tien of the 3rd Corp had served for 40 years. The 4 of them represented all the award winners to receive the honor. Deputy Magistrate Chen Cheng-shen and the Director Lin Tsung-chi cut the cake together to celebrate.
Deputy Magistrate Chen said that Magistrate Lin emphasizes much on the safety of firefighters by upgrading all the professional equipment continuously to safeguard the lives of volunteer firefighters in fire scenes, the EMT volunteers in handling emergency cases, and the personnel in fire safety promotion teams when educating people with the knowledge on fire prevention, saving people’s lives and property.
