    The 2020 New Year's Day Flag-Raising Ceremony was held in the early morning around 6 am at the plaza in front of the Nantou County Stadium. The county government prepared 1,200 oranges and cabbage as gifts for the people who participated in the flag-raising ceremony. The gifts distribution was completed in a short time, and the vaccination was also available on site in hopes of health. Magistrate Lin Ming-zhen indicated that the county government will continue every infrastructure practice, start-up loan for the young entrepreneurs, youth residents, the development of industrial parks, creating employment opportunities, etc., a promise to the young people for a better future.

    Several hours after the New Year's Activity in Nantou had ended, the New Year's Day Flag-Raising Ceremony took place. More than a thousand people gathered at the County Stadium around 5 am at dawn to welcome the first sunrise of the new year. The Mayor of Nantou City, Song Huai-lin, as well as the local elected representatives attended the flag-raising. Magistrate Lin Ming-zhen with the team members of the county government wished everyone a happy new year. The new year started with great vitality on the 1st day.
