The Glory of Nantou! Lin Wei-hsiang won the 45th WorldSkills Competition (January 2)
Lin Wei-hsiang whose hometown is in Caotun, Nantou, is the freshman student at the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology. On behalf of Taiwan, he took part in the 2019 WorldSkills Competition held in Kazan, Russia; in the face of numerous foreign competitors, his outstanding performance received the Medallion for Excellence in CNC Milling!
Among the winners of the WorldSkills Competition from Taiwan, Lin Wei-hsiang is the only person who is from Nantou. Magistrate Lin Ming-zhen gave him special recognition and attention and he personally chose the young people's favorite AirPods featuring practical functions as the souvenir gift to highlight the excellence award event. Besides, the recognition and gift-awarding ceremony was exclusively scheduled on the 1st working day of 2020 (Jan 2) at the Nantou County Government. On behalf of Magistrate Lin, the Deputy Magistrate Chen Cheng-sheng gave the award and said, "In the new year, it's hoped that Lin Wei-hsiang, who is the young generation of Nantou, will keep up his great work on the way to a promising future of infinite wonder and continuously strive for success that glorifies Taiwan and Nantou.
Born in 1999, Lin Wei-hsiang has received several championship awards in the domestic skill competition in CNC milling. Not only did he win the 1st place of the 48th National Region Skill Contests of the Central District and the 1st place of the 48th National Skill Championship, he also won the 1st place of the 45th WorldSkills Competition in CNC Milling, With all efforts and instructions from teachers and seniors in the industry as well as his self-developed ability, he can stand on the glory stage of the world under everyone's expectations.
