    On the 3rd, the Nantou Hospital of the Ministry of Health and Welfare grandly held the unveiling ceremony for being upgraded to a district teaching hospital. The Superintendent Hung Hung-chang hosted the ceremony and the attendees including the Minister of Health and Welfare Chen Shih-chung, the County Magistrate Lin Ming-zhen, the Executive Director of the Hospital and Social Welfare Organizations Administration Wang Bi-sheng, the Division Chief of the Central District Division of the National Health Insurance Administration Fang Chih-lin joined and witnessed the ceremony. Magistrate Lin indicated that it's greatly appreciated to have the support from the Ministry of Health and Welfare, the establishment of a district teaching hospital which the folks of Nantou have been longing for many years has been fulfilled. It's a big milestone on the localization of health care in Nantou.

    Magistrate Lin said, ever since the Superintendent Hung took office in 2014, he has been dedicated to the purchase of advanced medical equipment. Among all areas in Nantou, the hospital is the only one that has 2 high-tech multidetector computed tomography (MDCT). Besides, it has set up the hyperbaric oxygen therapy unit and the nuclear medicine division to complete a more comprehensive medication planning machines. Moreover, he has actively enrolled outstanding talents and strived for the medical center support project that allows the doctor specialists to be stationed and provide medical services at the Nantou Hospital. Not only did the productivity of Nantou Hospital reach the standard of a district hospital but also the folks of Nantou have completely changed their impression of the Nantou Hospital.

    Under many concerns and considerations, the hospital accepted the performance appraisal of district hospital at the end of 2019; and the results announced that the hospital has recently passed the appraisal. In the future, being a district-level hospital, the people of the county will be provided with complete health and medical services.
