Nantou County Government Strengthens Propaganda on Infection Prevention Measures on Migrant Workers and Employers (Mar. 8)
In order to provide migrant workers with pandemic assistance and implement infection prevention measures, on behalf of Magistrate Lin Ming-zhen, Deputy Magistrate Chen Cheng-sheng visited shops where many migrant workers gather during the holidays on March 8 accompanied by Public Health Bureau and Department of Social Affairs personnel. Besides giving out surgical masks and mask covers, they also posted and distributed infection prevention flyers written in various languages. They also hired interpreters to kindly remind migrant workers in Taiwan to carry out personal health and infection prevention measures in order to protect their health, and that of their colleagues and employers.
Deputy Magistrate Chen pointed out that due to the fact that COVID-19 is highly contagious and the pandemic is becoming severe, Nantou County Government has carried out infection prevention operations in all aspects, including migrant workers. He hoped that through the aggressive and constant propaganda of the government, migrant workers can have a better understanding on COVID-19, and expected to lower the crisis of pandemic through multi-layered and correlating propaganda.
Nantou County Government pointed out that in order for migrant workers to understand infection prevention measures regarding COVID-19, it has especially printed posters written in English, Indonesian, Vietnamese and Thai. It will also demand enterprises and agencies to post them at factories and dormitories. Pamphlets will also be handed out to foreigners on visits in order to remind employers, agencies and migrant workers to carry out infection prevention measures.
