    County magistrate Lin Ming-zhen was accompanied by Chen Chih-hsien, the director of the Department of Tourism of Nantou County Government, to Shueili Township and Xinyi Township on the 7th. Along with Councilors Chen Shu-hui and Hsiao Chih-chuan, they surveyed the “Project for improvement construction on the surrounding trails and environment of Shueili Que bridge” and “Facility and environment construction project for Wusonglun, Fengguidou, Xinxiang Scenic Area in Xinyi Township” to understand the current situation on the spot, and listen to the briefings of each project, and also listen to the opinions of local residents. County magistrate Lin said that with Nantou County Government’s efforts, these two projects have received about NT$ 8 million and 7 million respectively from the Tourism Bureau for improvement. Nantou County Government will complete the design and outsource the construction as soon as possible to improve the quality of tourism.

    County magistrate Lin said that after taking office, he is dedicated to making Nantou a big tourist county, and is actively making plans to develop exclusive attractions in various towns. Que bridge is a popular attraction in Shueili Township. In addition to the beautiful surrounding environment, it is also a hot spot for many couples to check in. However, the public facilities such as public toilets, trails, gazebos, and landscape platforms are outdated, and the surrounding environment is not well-organized, which affects the quality of tourism and recreation. Therefore, Nantou County Government strived for a subsidy of NT$ 8 million from the Tourism Bureau to improve the environment and public facilities around Que bridge and create better quality recreation, making Que bridge the most beautiful sightseeing spot in Shueili Township.

    County magistrate Lin also pointed out that apart from the existing attractions in Shueili and Xinyi Township such as Checheng, Que bridge, Dongpu Hot Spring, Plum Garden, and Dream Works of the Mei, Shueili and Xinyi, Nantou County Government has also planned to complete the construction of the Shuang Long Suspension Bridge, which is a tourist route with lots of fun. Tourists can plan a variety of trips from one-day to multi-day trips, enjoy the scenery along the way, and have some delicious food and tea, which are not available in other counties and cities. Magistrate Lin believes that the well-organized tourist facilities will certainly be helpful for the tourism in Shueili and Xinyi Township, as well as the local development.
