    Nantou County Government held the unveiling press conference of “Mapei Landhome NTUPES Nantou County Soccer Training & Development Center” at Nantou County Stadium hosted by Deputy Magistrate Chen Cheng-sheng. Deputy Magistrate Chen Cheng-sheng expected that with the collaboration of NTUPES and enthusiastic enterprises, a soccer boom could occur in Nantou, enabling Nantou to train soccer players, set the foundation of this sport in Nantou, and gear it up with international standards.

    Deputy Magistrate Chen invited guests to unveil and kick off, officially announcing the foundation setting and development of soccer in Nantou. An agreement signing ceremony was also held in the press conference, in which Deputy Magistrate Chen, Principal Lin and Chair Chuang signed an agreement with the expectation of flourishing soccer in schools of Nantou, making it the role model of the whole country with the cooperation between industry, government and academia. Chairman Chuang also donated 10 soccer balls each to 4 junior high schools, 13 elementary schools and 1 kindergarten to inspire the children’s interest in and popularity of soccer. Deputy Magistrate Chen also presented a certificate of gratification to NTUPES and Landhome Co., Ltd. for their enthusiastic assistance in promoting the sport of soccer in Nantou County. He expects that more enterprises can demonstrate their CSR and actively fund the sport development of Nantou, so that more sport-loving children can have stages to shine.

    Deputy Magistrate Chen said that Nantou County used to be the desert of soccer. After 5 years of effort by the county government, the plan of training soccer players has finally been realized thanks to the support and assistance of NTUPES and Landhome Co., Ltd. Now that the Nantou Soccer Training & Development Center has officially been unveiled and launched, it has started a new era in the soccer development of Nantou. In the past, Nantou was unable to take part in soccer games. Now soccer may have a chance to be the spotlight sport of Nantou in the future. With the instruction of professional instructors from NTUPES, many outstanding children may shine in the future and make soccer flourish in Nantou. He believed that with industry–government–academy cooperation, Nantou will become the mainstream hub of soccer in Taiwan and be on par with the 6 municipalities. In the future, the county government will create a 4-level training environment in cooperation with all level of schools and NTUPES, enabling players to develop and thrive under a comprehensive training environment and make the soccer of Nantou be known throughout the sport society.
