Magistrate Lin said that 3 schools including Xinfeng Elementary School, Qianqiou Elementary School and Zhongzheng Elementary School from Nantou County participated in 2019 School Year Student Baseball Tournament-Elementary School Rubber Baseball Group. All 3 schools entered the final 32 among 252 nationwide participating teams. Xinfeng Elementary School and Zhongzheng Elementary School made it into the final 8. In the end, Xinfeng Elementary School won 3rd place and Zhongzheng Elementary School won 7th place, both setting the best record for their schools. It was a great achievement and worth praising. He encouraged these young players to have the championship spirit of Hongyeh Baseball Team to continue their practice and make the student baseball of Nantou shine again.
Magistrate Lin also stated that the county government highly stresses the development of baseball and softball. To provide better training fields, it is planning to build a county baseball stadium to train baseball talents and enable the sport to thrive in Nantou. It takes not only daily practice, but also actual games and competitions for players to improve. He hoped that schools could invite more schools within Nantou County and from other counties/cities to play games against one another in order to know their own strengths and weaknesses, strengthen their practices, and win more honor for themselves and the county.
