    The girls’ soccer team of Suili Elementary High School performed extremely well in the National Junior’s Soccer Tournament by winning the champion for 5th graders and 6th graders and won 4th place for 4th graders, becoming the greatest winner in this year’s girl tournament and creating a new page of history for Suili Elementary School. On June 22, Deputy Magistrate Chen Cheng-sheng and the Technical Director Chao Jung-jui of MAPEI Landhome NTUPES Nantou County Soccer Training & Development Center, who is also a professor at NTUPES, visited Suili Elementary School, presented students with certificates awarded by the magistrate, and presented them with new soccer balls.

    “National Junior’s Soccer Tournament” was held at Chaoma Soccer Field at Taichung and the championship and 3rd place round for girls’ 4th, 5th and 6th graders were held on June 15. Suili Elementary School was qualified for all those games and performed well by winning the champion of girls’ 5th graders and 6th graders, while winning 4th place for girls’ 4th graders.

    Deputy Magistrate Chen stated that it was an extremely difficult task for the 4th graders to win 4th place and 5th and 6th graders to win national champion. Considering that Nantou County is currently regarded as a “Soccer Desert”, these accomplishments could be regarded as a miracle. For this miracle to happen, besides the hard works of instructors and students, the support from the principle, teachers and NTUPES professors have all helped the improvement of this soccer team. He also thanked Taipower Company for its abundant support and the attentions from the society.
