Establishment of Ren-ai Township Senior Learning Center, under the joy from Nanfeng Community, July 13
Elders in their hometowns enjoy learning, and so a senior learning center in Ren-ai Township was established. On the 13th, Deputy County Mayor Chen Cheng-sheng, on behalf of County Mayor Lin Ming-zhen, went to the Ren-ai Township Elderly Center in Nanfeng Community Activity Center to preside over the opening ceremony. Chen hoped that the elders of Ren-ai Township could live happily and healthily and keep learning as time goes by. He also emphasized that all the learning centers for senior citizens in the county's 13 townships and cities will soon be put in place after the opening of Xinyi. This will lay the best foundation for the county's senior learning environment.
In order to provide lifelong learning opportunities and convenient places for elders in Ren-ai Township, the county government established the Ren-ai Township Elderly Learning Center. The opening ceremony was held at the Nanfeng Community Activity Center on the morning of the 13th. In addition to the presiding deputy county magistrate Chen Cheng-sheng, Director Lu Cheng-wei of Education Department, Mayor Wang Yuan-chung of Ren-ai Township, Vice Chairman of Ren-ai Township Representative Council Hsiao Chuan-chi, representatives Lin Ting-li, Chou Chih-hang, Director Lu Chien-tsang of the host Family Education Center, Nanfeng Village Mayor Kuo Ming-te, and Chairman of Nanfeng Community Development Association Wang Chia-hsun also attended the ceremony. With grandpas and grandmas who happily performed singing, dancing, and weaving using traditional methods, together they witnessed the opening of a new page in history in this indigenous area for the establishment of the senior citizens’ learning place.
