    The highlight of the Nantou Global Tea Expo is the tea banquet for thousands of people, which will be held on the National Day (October 10). This year, there will be 360 seats, and the number of participants is expected to exceed 3,000. At 4:30pm, Magistrate Lin Ming-zhen announced the official start of the banquet. Magistrate Lin said, “the Tea Expo will last for 10 days. Today as the 2nd day, it has attracted many people. I hope everyone will buy the best tea from Nantou County. This way it not only invigorates the local agricultural economy, but also improves tea the farmers' income.”

    The distinguished guests who attended the opening ceremony include Changhua Magistrate Wang Hui-mei, Director of Agriculture and Food Agency, Council of Agriculture, Executive Yuan, Hu Chung-yi, Council Member Chang Chia-che, Managing Director of Lugu Farmers’ Association Chen Wen-yi, Executive Secretary Lin I-neng, Managing Supervisor Tseng Wen-tung...etc. Mr. Hu said that he hoped that tourists from all over the country would come to experience the Tea Expo in person, not only to understand the beauty of Taiwan's tea culture, but also to experience the hard work of the tea farmers. Purchasing could be the practical action to support Taiwan's agriculture. The Tea Expo is becoming more and more successful every year. This year, new venues such as chocolate and coffee booths have been added to promote Taiwan's high-quality agricultural products to the whole world.

    This year, there’s a set up of “Changhua Exhibition Hall” at the Tea Expo and Changhua Magistrate Wang Hui-mei also came to the venue to drink tea with Nantou Magistrate Lin. The “Changhua Exhibition hall is designed as a fan-shaped garage. The selling drinks include coffee, goat's milk, honey and buckwheat tea. There’s also a gift with purchase activity,” described by Wang. Thanks to Lin's invitation, Changhua County has the opportunity to exhibit its high-quality agricultural products and the consumption at the Tea Expo will boost the agricultural and tourism in central Taiwan.
