Deputy Magistrate Chen Cheng-sheng attended the opening of the Sun Moon Lake Black Tea Culture Festival and the 2020 Sun Moon Lake Black Tea Appraisal and Award Ceremony and sales promotions in the morning of the 7th. Together with the Premier of the Republic of China Su Chen-chang, he presented the plaques to 2 Grand Prize winners, Chuang Jung-pu and Tung An-jou, in recognition of their work on No. 18 Taiwanese Tea and Large-leaf, respectively. The plaques were also presented to two first prize winners, Chen Ming-chung for the work on No. 21 Taiwanese Tea and Yu I-nien for the work on Taiwan Mountain Tea. Deputy Magistrate Chen and Premier Su, along with Legislator Hsu Shu-hua and Lo Mei-ling, Minister of the Council of Agriculture Chen Chi-chung, Director of the Agriculture and Food Agency Hu Chung-yi, Director of Sun Moon Lake National Scenic Area Administration Hung Wei-hsin, Councilor Shih Ching-lung, Wang Chiu-shu and Yeh Jen-chuang, Mayor of Yuchi Township Liu Chi-fan, sealed the champion teas of four categories at the Yingge-made Tea Storehouse, initiating the Sun Moon Lake Black Tea Culture Festival to promote the sale of black tea. The ceremony was lively and splendid. “Where is Hung Yu (Ruby)?” The annual Sun Moon Lake Black Tea Festival was held at the Sun Moon Lake Xiangshan Visitor Center on the morning of the 7th, attracting tourists from all over the world to come to taste tea, discover tea and buy good tea. All exhibition stands were full of people looking for tea and the sales were very brisk. In addition to the black tea appraisal and awards ceremony, the Yuchi Township Office also invited 30 people, whose names are related to “Hung Yu,” from all over Taiwan to take a group photo. The scene was lively and heart-warming. Deputy Magistrate Chen eagerly invites people from all over the country to take a trip to Sun Moon Lake in Yuchi Township and taste good black tea, such as No. 18 Taiwanese Tea, Large-leaf tea, No. 21 Taiwanese Tea, Taiwan Mountain Tea and Assam tea while enjoying the beautiful scenery and experiencing the warm welcome of the local people. Deputy Magistrate Chen said that Yuchi Township is the hometown of black tea. In order to facilitate the marketing and promotion of black tea, the Nantou County Government and the Sun Moon Lake National Scenic Area Administration have continued to work together to assist the Township Office in organizing the Sun Moon Lake Black Tea Culture Festival over the years. As the scale of the festival is getting bigger and bigger every year, the festival is constantly innovating as well.
