In order to enhance the cooperation of industries, officials and universities between Honduras and Taiwan, the Honduras ambassador the Hon Bautista and a group of 15 people, accompanied by Chen Lin, chairman of Taiwan Development Institute, visited the Nantou County Council on the 4th. Magistrate Lin, Ming-Chen and Speaker Ho Sheng-Feng led the first-level supervisors of the county government to greet and communicate with them, hoping to work together to overcome the impact of the pandemic, promote Nantou's tourism, industry, and special agricultural products to the international market and increase Nantou’s visibility internationally. Magistrate Lin said that Nantou County has beautiful scenery. In addition to the internationally renowned Sun Moon Lake, the Cingjing Skyline planned and constructed by the county government has attracted many tourists and business opportunities, which has also become a new landmark in Ren-ai Township. The Shuanglong Rainbow Suspension Bridge in Xinyi Township, with a total length of 342 meters and a height of 110 meters, is the tallest and longest suspension bridge in the country. It has attracted more than 160,000 people to visit the place since its opening this year. Also, the Nantou Lantern Festival and the Global Tea Expo are held every year, with tremendous and exciting activities attracting tourists from all over the country. Bautista said that many countries around the world are affected by COIVD-19 in 2020, and Honduras has also been severely hit. Taiwan is the first country in the world to help Honduras. She is very grateful for the help from Taiwan. She announced to everyone that grand events will be held on April 9 and in September next year, respectively, for celebrating the 80th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Taiwan and Honduras and the Latino Festival. She invited everyone to join in this joyful festival.
