Nantou County Government held a year-end press conference on the 10th to show the achievements in tourism and construction over the year. Magistrate Lin, Ming-Chen, Deputy Magistrate Chen, Cheng-Sheng and Secretary-General Hung, Jui-Chih led the team of the county government to give a briefing on the endeavors made over the year to the citizens. Speaker Ho, Sheng-Feng of Nantou County Council, Legislator Ma, Wen-Chun and Hsu, Shu-Hua, and Councilor Tseng, Chen-Yen and Lin, Fang-Yu also attended the press conference, affirming the county government’s dedicated service to the citizens. Due to the impact of the pandemic, local development has encountered tough challenges this year. The county government pointed out that Nantou County has taken preventive measures in advance, reducing the impact on people's livelihood and economy. Magistrate Lin, Ming-Chen said that in the past year, the county government has overcome difficulties and organized large-scale events to drive tourism business opportunities, opening the markets for special agricultural products and increasing employment rate and income for the citizens. Over the year, the county government held the Sun Moon Lake Swimming Carnival, establishing a new paradigm for pandemic prevention; and the Nantou Global Tea Expo, attracting 720,000 visitors, with sales reaching a record high of NT$ 170 million; and the first Nantou Street Dance Battle and the first Nantou Chocoffee Festival, as well as the Never Stop Wuling Challenge, the Hakka Culture Festival and other activities, bringing more and more tourists to Nantou County.
