At the end of the lunar year and winter, to care for disadvantaged families and low-income households, the Nantou Lantian Academy Charity Association has organized the ‘2020 Year-end Charity Event in Nantou County’ from January 18th. County Magistrate Lin, Ming-Chen was accompanied by the Chief of Civil Affairs Department, Wu, Yen-Ling to Lantian Academy on the morning of the 26th, to show appreciation to the Charity Association and all walks of life for their kind deeds. Because of them, all citizens of the county can have a good year. They also helped with the distribution of materials and red envelopes to eligible citizens from Nantou, Mingjian, and Jhongliao Township, hoping that everyone can feel the warmth of the New Year. The recipients of the charity are 179 first- and second-classification low-income households in 13 towns and cities in the county. The charity materials include soy sauce, biscuits, instant noodles, grain flour and other foods, and red envelope cash ranging from NT$ 2,000 to NT$ 3,500, totaling NT$ 549,000. Councilors of Nantou County Government Yu, Hung-Ta and Lai, Yen-Hsueh also showed up to care for the disadvantaged. County Magistrate Lin said that the Lunar New Year is coming, and gave thanks to Li, Ku-Mo for establishing the Lantian Academy Charity Association and his full commitment to public welfare activities since the founding of the Association, and kind donations from all walks of life to help poor families, giving them red envelopes and full supplies for a good year. Lin hopes that the charity event will be able to encourage more people to contribute in their own capacity and help more disadvantaged groups in society.
