Puli shooting case solved within 4 hours, County magistrate Lin commends meritorious personnel, February 14
The Puli Precinct of Nantou County Police Bureau has done an outstanding work on safety maintenance during the important festival by solving a murder case in the downtown area of Puli on the second day of the Chinese New Year in just 4 hours. The chief of Nantou County Police Bureau Lu, Hsin-Tsai accompanied the County magistrate Lin, Ming-Chen to the Puli Precinct on the afternoon of the 14th to praise and encourage the personnel who made contributions to the case. The case-solving reward was NT$ 50,000, which was accepted by the deputy chief Fang, Chiu-Mei on behalf of the staff. County magistrate Lin reiterated his determination to maintain law and order even during the Spring Festival, to ensure the safety of the people, allowing them to have a good year with no worries. Tseng, Yun-Hsin, director of the Puli Office of Nantou County Friends of the Police Association, also gave a reward for solving the case. The ceremony was simple and grand.
County magistrate Lin said that Puli Township has always been a peaceful and quiet place and public security there has been stable. After the shooting and killing incident that happened suddenly on the second day of the Chinese New Year, Chief Lu of the Nantou County Police Bureau immediately took command and instructed the Puli Precinct and the Criminal Investigation Corps to set up a special case team to aggressively investigate and target the suspects involved in the case. The case was solved in just 4 hours, establishing a new record in Nantou's history of public security, manifesting the determination to maintain public security and efficiency in solving the case, stabilizing public sentiment, deterring criminals and boosting public confidence in the police. It is worthy of commendation. Lin, Ming-Chen also urged those who possess illegal firearms to surrender themselves to the police as soon as possible. So that, no one will get hurt accidentally, otherwise, lawbreakers will eventually be punished by the law.
Chief Lu said that after the shooting happened in the downtown area of Puli Township on the afternoon of the 13th, County magistrate Lin immediately gave instructions to solve the case in the shortest possible time. With the joint effort of the Criminal Investigation Corps and the Puli Precinct, one suspect was arrested in just 2 hours after the case was reported and the second suspect was arrested within 4 hours, and the murder weapon was confiscated, and the case was successfully solved. The people in Puli Township are simple and the public order has always been stable. Although this is a solitary case in Puli, it has also raised social concern. To ease the worries of the public, the Criminal Investigation Corps and the Puli Precinct made full efforts to investigate and solve the case quickly, showing the bureau’s determination and efficiency to maintain public order during the Spring Festival.
