The annual Zinan Temple ‘Chih Ting Chiu, Chih Ping An’ event grandly kicked off on the 27th in front of the Shui Lien Waterfall next to the Zinan Temple parking lot. The personnel of the temple prepared nearly 70,000 portions of Ting Chiu and 10,000 portions of veggie rice dumplings, veggie noodle ingredients, longevity peaches and taro cakes for the believers to taste for free. Worshipers from all over the country poured in early in the morning and queued up. The scene was grand and lively as usual. County magistrate Lin, Ming-Chen, Chairman Chuang, Chiu-An, Legislator Hsu, Shu-Hua, Councilor Yu Hao, Zhushan Township Mayor Chen, Tung-Mu and the executive director of the Central Taiwan Joint Services Center of Executive Yuan Tsai, Pei-Hui distributed Ting Chiu meal kits to the people. The scene was lively. County magistrate Lin said that the traditional culture of Chih Ting Chiu is quite representative, which has a history of more than 200 years. Every year on the 16th of the first month of the lunar calendar, believers from all over the world come to have some Ting Chiu and pray for safety. As we are still affected by COVID-19 this year, Zinan Temple took into account the hygiene, pandemic prevention and local cultural customs and packed the Ting Chiu as frozen meal kits distributed to the people. Many people from all over the country poured in early in the morning to join in the grand event. The long queues of people receiving meal kits were spectacular. The scene was very lively. He appreciates the efforts of Chairman Chuang for organizing the event, making sure that the health of the public is taken care of while enjoying the event. He hopes that after the believers take the meal kits back home and enjoy Ting Chiu with their families, they will be safe, healthy and successful throughout the year. County magistrate Lin also invited people from all over the country to visit the Nantou Lantern Festival in Nantou City and have a happy holiday after receiving Ting Chiu meal kits and praying to the God of Land. At the event, everything was taken care of in accordance with the pandemic prevention regulations and the believers also wore masks all the time. The event kicked off after the gong was played by Chairman Chuang, Chiu-An at 9 o'clock, and the people entered the venue in order. County magistrate Lin and other guests distributed frozen Ting Chiu meal kits to the people one by one and people received them in good order. People agreed with the measures that distributing Ting Chiu meal kits for the people to take them back home to cook was different from the previous years. They unanimously said that although they can't enjoy freshly cooked Ting Chiu this year, they acknowledged the pandemic situation and the meal kits is relatively hygienic and they also reduced the problem of the use of disposable tableware.
