County Magistrate Lin gives full support in creating a light and shadow scenery at Carp Pond for night tours, March 3
Carp Pond in Puli Township has the reputation of Little West Lake for its scenery. For a long time, the facilities there have been seldom renovated and that it has little highlights for night tours. County Magistrate Lin, Ming-Chen was impressed by the scenery that combines the mountain view and waterscape of the West Lake, which creates a dreamlike effect with sound and light projecting the scenery. Therefore, he intends to promote the “Dreamland Carp Pond, Immersive Forest Light and Shadow” environment planning. After hearing the planning report on the 3rd, Lin carried out an on-site inspection. County Magistrate Lin emphasized that the planning unit has been instructed to review and improve the facilities to promote the Dreamland Carp Pond Project as soon as possible under the principle of the most effective use of the budget.
County Magistrate Lin pointed out that in order to create a brand-new Carp Pond and provide the exclusive experience of “immersive night entertainment” in Taiwan, the county government has raised about 65 million NT$, aiming to create a new highlight for day and night tours at Carp Pond in Puli Township, which is known as the Little West Lake. In addition, it aims to attract 700,000 tourists with spending power each year to make an investment in new scenery and achieve a balance between revenue and loss, as well as driving prosperity in the surrounding sightseeing business, yielding win-win results.
Chen, Chih-Hsien, director of the county government's tourism department, pointed out that the currently planning of Dreamland Carp Pond, Immersive Forest Light and Shadow includes setting up a stage for live performances, an auditorium with fish-scale-like stairway, a forest wonderland, floating projections, lake platforms, light and shadow walls and other ”nodes,” combined with the upgrading and beautification of the facilities, as well as using advanced software for sound, lighting, environmental control, screen projection, along with ancient books of the sea of clouds, carp water shadow, the phantom-like corridor and other interactive experiences presented by the sound and light performing works, making Carp Pond the first choice for themed night tours where one can enjoy the scenery. It is estimated that each tour will take about 90 minutes and the fee will be 200 to 300 NT$. A tour will be available every 10 minutes, with a dedicated person providing guidance for the experience.
