After ten years of training, the Nantou County indigenous junior league baseball team showed their talents in the Indigenous Games Junior League Championships and won the third place in the country-wide competition. On the afternoon of the 18th, Deputy County Magistrate Chen, Cheng-Sheng and Director General Hung, Ming-Hui of the Nantou County Sports Association went to the Nantou County Baseball Field to welcome the team that makes a triumphant return and commended the players in person for their outstanding performance. Team Captain Wu, Chieh-Sen also presented the trophy to Deputy County Magistrate Chen and reported the good news. Director General Hung also gave a gift of NT$20,000 on behalf of Pan, Yi-Chuan, the vice president and chairman of the association, to the players for their efforts. The process was simple but solemn. Deputy County Magistrate Chen said that the junior league team played outstandingly in the biannual Indigenous Games. Under the wholehearted guidance of the coaching team, these athletes defeated stronger opponents and won the third place in the country, hitting the best record of the youth baseball team since the county was created, which is not easy. Chen thanked the coaching team for their hard work and hoped that the players will continue to make progress to make a breakthrough and become elites in the baseball world in the future. He also hopes everybody to pay attention to the development of baseball in the county, making Nantou’s baseball as internationally renowned as in softball.
