The vaccination for Severe Pneumonia with Novel Pathogens (COVID-19) has started. Nantou County has received the first batch of 800 approved doses and distributed to the two contracted hospitals: Chu Shang Show Chwan Hospital and the Puli Branch of Taichung Veterans General Hospital. In the morning of the 22nd, 10 medical staff at Chu Shang Show Chwan Hospital got vaccinated first. County Magistrate Lin, Ming-Chen appointed the commander of the county epidemic prevention command center and Deputy County Magistrate Chen, Cheng-Sheng to go to the hospital to supervise and understand the situation. Deputy County Magistrate Chen pointed out that Nantou County has fully cooperated with the vaccination guidelines in accordance with the planning of the Central Epidemic Command Center and given priority to safeguarding medical personnel’s health. Director Huang, Chao-Lang of the Health Bureau of Nantou County Government pointed out that 400 doses of AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine allocated from the Central Epidemic Command Center have been distributed to the Chu Shang Show Chwan Hospital and the Puli Branch of Taichung Veterans General Hospital, respectively, to administer the first batch of vaccines. After the vaccines were delivered to the hospitals on the 19th, they are properly stored in a vaccine-dedicated refrigeration equipment at an optimum temperature of 2 to 8 degrees Celsius in accordance with the regulations. Because a bottle of 5ml vaccine is just a dosage for 10 people, the two hospitals adopted the method of appointment registration. 10 people at a time will get vaccinated. The registration will be reviewed by related medical units and the vaccination implementation will be carried out by related medical personnel. People living near Zhuoshui River can apply for the vaccination at the Chu Shang Show Chwan Hospital and people living near Wu River can apply for the vaccination at the Puli branch of the Taichung Veterans General Hospital.
