In response to COVID-19, Nantou County Government starts the vaccination for students from the 23rd. Tung Der High School, WuYu Senior High School and others are the first at the first day of vaccination. In the morning, accompanied by Director Lu Cheng-Wei of the Education Department and Deputy Director-General Wu Mei-Ling of the Health Bureau, County Magistrate Lin Ming-Chen went to Tung Der High School to learn about students’ vaccination status. Lin says he appreciates Tzu Chi Foundation, Yonglin Foundation and TSMC for procuring 15 million doses of BNT vaccine for students to get vaccinated and learn with peace of mind. On the first day of vaccination for junior and senior high schools in Nantou County, WuYu Senior High School, Tung Der High School, Hong-Ming Junior High School, Hong-Ming Senior High School, Yu-Chi Junior High School, Mingtan Junior High School, Shui-Li Vocational High School of Commerce and Industry (including night school), Ren-ai Agricultural Vocational Senior High School, and Ren’ai Junior High School were the first to get vaccinated. Currently, 93% of students of junior and senior high schools in Nantou County are willing to receive BNT vaccination, about 22,017 people. It is expected to complete the vaccination by October 10. Parents of about 500 students wish to take their children to the hospital themselves for vaccination. The vaccination was scheduled for two days at Tung Der High School as there are nearly 2,000 students. The vaccination was carried out by staff of Hsu-Nei Pediatric Clinic and the Health Bureau. On the morning of the 23rd, the vaccination status was good. The 10th Army Command also sent ambulances and medical staff to stand by, allowing the schools to feel at ease.
