The 2nd event of the 2021 Nantou Hot Spring Season, the Dongpu Hot Spring Season “Love for Yushan, Passion for Dongpu,” had its grand opening on November 13th at the Dongpu Parking Lot and Hot Spring Plaza. During the evening, the people parading in Yukatas attracted lots of tourists to take part in the event and bring the Event to an all-time high. At the event, County Mayor Lin Ming-chen was grateful to the Tourism Bureau of the Ministry of Transport for the organization of subsidies as it revitalized the local industries. The County Government specifically attaches great importance to the shaping and marketing of Dongpu Hot Spring District and in addition to completing the NTD $300 million forward-looking projects subsidized by the Ministry of the Interior’s Construction and Planning Agency at the beginning of this year, the County Government has also made the pipelines and wiring underground, reshaped the tourism skyline, and also created a feature Hot Springs Plaza and Foot Bath area. The County Government has also invited famed international graphic designer Hsiao Qing-yang to create a Zhulu Landmark, and applied for Taiwan Trip routes to reach Dongpu to continue marketing the Dongpu Hot Spring Area. This year’s Nantou hot spring season will introduce featured healthy cuisines from the three major hot spring areas of Puli, Dongpu, and Beigang Creek. They will combine local ingredients with the concept of health and wellness to make local specialty dishes to attract visitors to the three hot spring areas to enjoy a feast of different and healthy flavors. The Dongpu Hot Spring Area has chosen to use red quinoa, which is commonly eaten by the Indigenous People, local specialty fruits, delicious mountain vegetables, fresh and delicious fish and shrimp to put together an ingenious and healthy mountain cuisine. Tourists that come here to enjoy the hot springs can also taste the delicious foods of the Indigenous People.
